The ambiance is great. Very fun! Foods okay. Its a bit like chain restaurant food, but the burgers are great. Don't order a pitcher of margs unless you like a lemonade mix and yellow tequila.

El Barril is a really awesome Mexican joint we found in Mount Adam's in Cincinnati. It had both indoor and outdoor seating but on this day we decided on the inside. The restaurant looks really super fun with lots of tremendous decor with even the chairs being unique (and comfortable too.) They had a lot of unique takes on Mexican dishes (lots of unique burgers on the menu for one) as well as some classic favourites. We started with an appetizer of Buffalo Chicken Dip which was a straightforward take on it. It had lot's of chicken, a very flavourful but not too spicy Buffalo sauce, and some blue cheese mixed in. It was served with chips. This was as good of take as I've had on a Buffalo Dip that I've had from anyplace. For my main course I tried the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos which was 3 hard tacos served with grilled shrimp topped with spicy Bang Bang sauce as well as cilantro. This was very unique but very delicious all the same. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and that sauce I would describe as zesty with a slight punch but not too much. Really liked them a lot. My wife enjoyed her Margarita as well as her food (I believe it was a pork dish but I forgot to take a picture). This was a super fantastic lunch and I for one can't wait to come back.

Great service and tasty food. I had the chicken charro burrito. The house salsa is fresh and plentiful. The weather was great, and they had the windows wide open. Our waitress was excellent too.

A large place on the hill with a huge Mexican food menu. We had a burrito and a quesadilla and it was WAY too much food. Split an entree with a friend. The atmosphere was lively and the servers very friendly. The food wasn't as spicy as I would have liked and the maragarita pitcher was pretty weak, but we'd give them another shot.

Went on a nice Friday evening and there was plenty outdoor seating. Ordered a pitcher of margaritas, burrito barzon and birria quesadilla. Portions are HUGE - brought home more than half. The house margarita is fine but nothing special, food was good, but not as spicy as I expect at a Mexican restaurant. Service was great and friendly, and the crowd was a great mix that you don't find in a lot of neighborhoods. We enjoyed it.

We had a great experience here. We weren't sure what we were going to find for a Mexican sports bar, but it was exactly that- Mexican food with college football on. It wasn't crowded when we got there around 2:30 kit did fill up as the afternoon went on. The food was very good and filling. And like I said, lots of tvs with lots of games on. We'd definitely come back here.

The positives: atmosphere (they did a lot to make this place nice, including an outdoor patio), the service (excellent), the drinks The okay: the food. I've been a few times, it wasn't my favorite Mexican in town. But, it is decent portions and quality.

Good party place. Loved the music and drinks. They could open the window so when its nice they can raise the doors up to get a breeze in. Great staff and management. There was an issue with one of the entrees and the staff were on it... super satisfied.
